Car cleaning gear

Car cleaning is a worthwhile past-time, attention to details, it's done properly (not a quick blitz) but there are so many different brands at so many different prices, which car cleaning products do you use?
Washing:
Never and I repeat, never wash your car with washing up liquid!
The high salt content will destroy your paintwork!
Instead use the cheapest car wash/shampoo possible.
It will only be for cleaning your paintwork and will be polished or waxed over, so as long as it gets the dirt off you're good to go.
Wax or not?
For me, I don't wax after the wash.
I use Autoglym super resin polish, white bottle with red label.
It is a bit pricey, but I've been using it on all my cars for years and a big bottle lasts ages.
Damp, clean cloth, apply in swirls, let it dry to powdery look, then buff off with a clean, cotton cloth (For old farts like me - think windowlene)
Paintwork comes up lovely.
Detailing:
For the trim I use a tried and tested product, Amorall
The matt finish is best I've found, it comes in a gloss as well.
For all exterior trim its ace.
Warning though...
It is very slippy, so avoid brake parts and if using inside your car, avoid the steering wheel.
It lasts ages, leaves a decent look and is relatively cheap.
Of course it's available at Halfords, but also available at most independent car shops as well.
Usually cheaper.
To finish:
Once the trim has all been covered and cleaned, I spray a liberal amount of Amorall on the outside of the tyres, then a quick spread around with the now Amorall covered cloth, leaves them looking like new.
Job done.
