In response to: British gas' formula used to calculate gas bills

Has BG recently changed the formula they use to calculate the kwh used, as my usage in kwh is slightly less on my bill. Gas units 52.9 x 40.268(cv) x 1.02264(av) / 3.6(cf) = 605.1. There figure is 604.2.

So they still not give you the information to work out your bill. The calorific value for gas is not fixed ( as it used to be with other companies ), I think British Gas deliberately make it difficult for customers to work out their bills. One thing to think about a few pence extra on every bill will make a lot of money. Make them come out with an unambiguous formula.

have a peageot 307xsi had nothing but problems with the anti polution light .dealers blame the turbo repeat sensor, which I had replaced. But a year later same problem.I put this down to poor design of the system and lack of action by peageot to recognise this is a costly problem for owners.I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER PEAGEOT.

So I got myself a 307 Sports for a few months now, and if first got "anti pollution fault" in the inner dash board, loss of power momentarily, and then alot of other faults pop up, initially my coil was changed that didn't work out, got the filter checked out and also changed all the spark plugs initially for a 2 weeks i didn't get the fault, but recently started seeing the fault all over again and it got me worried, after reading several reviews i am armed and better informed when i visit the workshop.

Have the same issue here - managed to get a replacement ECU but now cant find anyone with the gear or knowhow or can be arsed to recode it in to the van - by the sounds of it you need a laser 2000 diagnostic / coding software to do the job

My experience od asking the FOS for help is that they are there to protect NOT police the financial industry. Our regulators are corrupted by corporate power and the 'revolving door'.

I’ve tried reving the nuts off it before and it shifted the problem many months ago, now it’s back with the fault flashing up and yellow light on the dash. Reddex figures as guess what theses some in the boot the previous owner left, so he must have known I’ll bear in mind the exhaust thing though cos I’m looking to sell as I need a van so cannot have the fault showing otherwise I’ll definitely get less for the car. Feedback welcome...

Do you think a change of government will change much Ray? I think it's more to do with the generators of energy, holding suppliers to ransom. As I post, only around £87 separates the so called "top ten" providers of dual fuel over a year. We could have 300 suppliers, but if they are buying from the same 7 or 8 generators, nothing much will change. The energy market is broken IMO.

The Whole lot of the energy companies must have rising prices capped by the government, that's the real disgrace ever increasing costs when world energy prices are falling, a case of putting profits first as usual, if Labour are elected all that needs to be done is to nationalise one energy company and retail energy prices at a low cost, the rest of the energy companies either follow suit of go bust, that's the answer...

Had a court case with Shoosmith's last week after they refused to discuss a payment plan. The solicitor argued with the judge to the point he turned around and told her to shut up and if she made any more comments they would removed from court. The solicitor then told the judge that her client wouldn't accept his ruling and so he found her in contempt of court!

I have had the same experience with this bunch of cutthroats! We were actually selling our house at the time and their attempt to force a charging order nearly wrecked the sale. It certainly caused my wife and I many sleepless nights. Ignoring letters and emails is their stock in trade so if you do get involved with them keep copies and send stuff signature service. Luckily our solicitor was a very switched on person and soon sorted them out - unlike them he was a real solicitor. They like to remain anonymous but one little ferret called Edwin Rose - apparently a "legal assistant" whatever that is, left his name on a document. I hope he rots in hell. These people are unscrupulous bullies, but sadly this country allows them to operate. If you run across them, get professional advice and heed the. Wise words of Frugalways above
